drummer amir bresler, born in 89, has been established as one of the most sought after israeli drummers, performing in israel and abroad at prominent local and world stage jazz festivals. starting his musical education at the age of 13, amir was first exposed to jazz music at the age of 15 upon his enrollment for the jazz program at the thelma-yellin national high school of the arts from which he graduated with honors. in 2010 amir joined the world renowned bass player, singer and composer avishai cohen, in concerts globally. avishai cohen is considered to be one of the most successful jazz artists in the world today. amir also performed alongside visiting musicians like sam yahel, joel fraham, mark turner, kirk lightsay, dwayne bruno. in addition, amir played with various israeli artists among these are, daniel zamir, omer klein, kutiman, nitai hershkovits, yotam silbrestein, amos hoffman, gilad abro, shai maestro, to name a few. this release is comprised of two tracks, originally composed and recorded for meinl cymbals drummers-videos-series. these tracks were later chosen by amir to be officially released. the first track, afro golden line, is inspired by 70s african high-life music (specially from ghana and nigeria) this is an odd-meter afro-beat track. featuring sefi zislings distinct trumpet melody and uzi ramirez s playful guitar. the second track, fish, is taken from lbts old mixtapes (originally with vocals by kerendun). it was re-recorded at amirs studio while bassist beno hendler & keyboardist nomok composed the third part of the track. both tracks were produced with rejoicer.

once upon a time… four house headz from uk, us and europe were separated. but one day, their fate crossed the same road. as they shared the same vision of house music and harmony. they worked hard with some magical & musical beans… and one day, a piece of wax appeared which was called “magnetic”. indeed, this wax has something definitely magnetic. the melodies, the vocal hooks, the atmosphere? definitely! and yet it remained underground until the magnetic power of this wax revealed! since that day, international dj’s like: amine edge & dance, sam divine, ben mono, mike millrain or dave meyer, to name a few, play and support that magnetic sound... today, this magnetic strength is revealed to you! last year, an enigmatic name seemed to appear out of thin-air. sam weston was apparently a fresh upstart in the australian house-scene releasing a dusty collection of late-night/early-morning jams aptly titled shiraz voyager. with this rose-tinted house release in hand, weston arrived on the scene and people took notice. the tape sold out within weeks. thing was, sam weston was not a fresh-face at all. he was here all along, although more commonly known as one half of influential sydney techno duo – alba. lorded for their brand of live-fire robotic grooves, alba became trailblazers in a town more miami than berlin, where brooding and rolling hypnosis weren’t often preferred to fist pumping “bangers”. wanting to flex his lovin’ spoonful of hypnotic lo-flung house, weston decided to release a handful of edits on his soundcloud. immediate attention was conjured and sam weston released the aforementioned shiraz voyager ep to a pretty amazing response. almost overnight, australia had a new hero in weston’s warm compositions that summon memories of sunny days and happier times.

much may have changed over a two-decade period, but drumcodes commitment to releasing the scenes most cutting-edge and refined techno remains resolute. with releases last year from heavy hitters such as adam beyer, alan fitzpatrick, luigi madonna, jel ford, dubspeeka and mark reeve, the label continues on in 2016 in much the same way, bringing fail-safe, club-ready music to the techno community.

liam blackburn s transformative night of visions lp as ancestral voices forged a bold new sonic identity for an influential figure on the electronic music scene. from his groundbreaking work as indigo and onto the success of akkord s hybrid electronic melting pot (with synkro), the quest for forward movement is intrinsic to everything liam produces. to further celebrate the night of visions lp release, we asked some of our favourite producers to reconstruct some of night of visions highlights in their own style. each remixer chose their own track from night of visions to work with. the first name on our remix list was swedish producer and northern electronics label head - abdulla rashim. choosing invocations , his remix focuses on the hypnotic power of the original, turning the tune into a golden loop with subtle kick drum stabs, sweeping percussion and a dangling tension that hangs through the entire 7.33 minutes. asc & sam kdc chose feathered serpent and using just touches of the original tune have masterfully built an all new backbone that demonstrates clearly the ability of the grey area sound to work at 2 different tempo s and weld together with straight techno.

jordan peak s rogue society imprint gets straight back into action after taking a year off with a seriously heavyweight package. london producer and dj sam russo known for his outings on respected house and techno labels such as leftroom, vitalik, fear of flying and air london provides us with three stellar tracks that showcase his impeccable production skills. the release also comes backed with high quality remixes from fachwerk head honcho and delsin regular mike dehnert, who takes a tougher approach and turns therapy into a thundering techno tool while chicago born malmö native amir alexander changes the tone of thats what he did on sunday into something much deeper and emotive than sam s original adding variety and depth to another impressive release from the label.

andre lodemann is a highly regarded producer from berlin whose debut release dropped in 2004 on mike grant s legendary moods & grooves label. last year saw andre lodemann release his innervisions debut leaving the comfort zone ep. he has remixed for labels such as innervisions, buzzin fly, poker flat and rebirth. squares is a brand new side-project from fish go deep, focusing on completely hardware-based productions and slightly more experimental, left field deep house. tony lionni continues to impress following his osgut ton smash found a place (which continues to drive dance floors into a frenzy worldwide) with releases on versatile, mule, wave and madhouse.

disdat is the new brainchild of new york s infamous underground party, resolute. for their first release, they showcase three different sonic interpretations of their iconic warehouse mornings that stretch out far into the afternoon. leading the release is s.a.m. (of oscillat and delpahine notoriety) with the aptly named brooklyn nights a driving track made for the dancefloor, with its acid-tinged bassline complimented by s.a.m.s trademark emotionality. french duo zendid provide the pulsating ws3, whose scattered kick drum underlines euphoric and fluttering elements. matthew burton & bangladesign, together as mikisderek, bring the release to a close with the subtle and introspective-sump1, as equally suited for the beginning of a night as the early morning after

something special from camp critical as two of electronic music’s leading lights lock horns for a vs battle of epic proportions. taking the jungle fleck of “mind & spirit” from sam’s “wasted days” lp of last year and one of breakage’s most memorable cuts from way back when (2005), the results are as you’d expect from these two. utterly essential listening.

sensoramic is a new label on a mission of sensory expansion. for the debut release the uk based imprint drafts new producer karousel to deliver two cuts of machine driven house. s.a.m., the danish oscillat/delaphine favourite appears on the remix fresh from delivering a slew of killer originals and remixes as well as his most recent mandar collaboration with lazare hoche and malin genie. on this reshape, he is at his most sublime best delivering an emotive retake on the original that stretches heady organs and melodies alongside a beat that refuses to let up.

cyrk is a live show and studio duo that now starts life as an exciting new label in the hands of two berlin based producers sierra sam and pascal hetzel. they have both been playing all around the planet as a live act and dj pair for some time, and now mark their first collaborations in the studio with an excellent inaugural release on their own new label. bolstering the brilliant ep is a remix from the legendary rolando.

primitive world aka sam willis joins r&s following a string of highly regarded releases on black acre, ecstatic sound and obsession recordings. the legendary belgian label is the perfect home for his dancefloor deconstructions, with the projects experimental, off kilter take on house & techno a natural fit for r&s records boundary-shifting heritage. a former member of revered kompakt duo walls, primitive world draws from willis time as part of influential london duo allez allez, whose dj sets and podcast frequently drew from dance music s punk and industrial fringes. purple caps finds the primitive world sound further maturing, the eps four original tracks confidently club focused yet esoteric enough to demand the full attention of djs and dancers with their off kilter rhythmic sensibility. since its inception in 2012 with the danceteria ep on black acre the project has already won ardent fans among djs such as untold, lowtec, joy orbison and barnt, while an early versionof this eps azimuth found its way into tessela s radio 1 show in 2014.

disco tools 1° moods is the first ep of sampling moods records label. in this first release eddie lays down the defining ingredients of his label: disco-funk samples, distinct rhythms and recordings on tape. assisted by his mentors, eddie sets out to make his mad passion for a particular music (…classics from the paradise garage, the loft sounds and the disco-funk hits) amalgamate with a galvanising rhythmic construction, which is raw and rough.
as a piece of art that touches our mood, sam try to make us rediscover the power and love of the original classics, through the continuous repetition of the samples. the label focus on a specific musical need and want to offer a contemporary garage house, raw and essential interpretation of some rare groove hits and other disco classics. the choice to add only rhythmical scores is due to enhance and exploit the sample itself.
